I love avocados, tomatoes, onions, and guacamole. So when I saw this pin for a deconstructed guacamole salad I was too excited. It seemed as if I just couldn't make it fast enough. Soon enough I had.
How was it? Kind of terrible :( I'm going to operate under the assumption this was my bad and that I made it incorrectly somehow. I guess I'll have to try it again.

Pintresting BLT's
This pin has been making its rounds and I haven't forgotten the idea.Once again I bought some lovely sandwich making bread
and thought - I want a BLT.
I carefully wove the bacon
A package of bacon spread out a bit better on two cookie sheets.
I placed it in the oven at 300 degrees until it looked done, flipping the bacon once during cooking.
My husband hates vegetables . . . and most condiments . . . and most cheese. So his sandwich was just bacon. I cut the woven bacon in half so it would fit the bread even better.
I on the other hand . . .
simply cannot get enough vegetables.
The center pieces of sourdough bread were long enough
that to avoid making a massive mess I cut the sandwich into three pieces.
It was every bit as delicious as it looks.
Well the point of this post was to see how helpful trying this method really is, not just to show you my delicious dinner. Making the bacon this way really did end up making things easier and the sandwiches quicker to assemble, I also think it contributed to the low amount of mess my sandwich left me with versus the amount I'm usually left with.

Snack With Dip!
For those of you parents out there who have the similar problem I do right now. I recommend trying hummus on your children. Mine was willing to eat it before and thankfully she still is now. In fact you can just give her a bowl of the stuff with nothing else and she's good to go.
Another good thing to try is any sort of cherry or grape tomato. I have no idea what it is about them but my little lamb usually loves them.

Pintested Pasta Salad
The other day I had a nice picnic with my husbands grandmother. I brought over a little fried chicken, some pulled pork, some Jewish rye (yeah yeah I can just hear the jokes now about pulled pork with Jewish rye), and a pasta salad I saw at the last minute. I only bought 1/4 pound and really wish I'd bought more because now I'm pretty obsessed with repeating the tastiness.
A few days later I saw this pin on Pintrest and couldn't wait to try it.
I made mine sans Feta, not because I have a problem with Feta but because I was just tired of being at the grocery store by the time I would have had to have gotten it. I also added olives because frankly olives are delicious.
The resulting pasta salad wasn't bad and looked similar to the picture.
